FF - TRANCE

Happy day-after-TRANCE-release day!

Lots of celebrating still happening on this end.

Here's what's going on:

* Yay! TRANCE is now available at a bookstore near you!

***

* Yay! DEATH BY BIKINI and DEATH BY LATTE have just been nominated for the 2011 ALA Popular Paperback list.

***

* Yay! My niece Katie is getting married tomorrow. I'm in Arizona with family, getting ready for her reception noir.

***

* Yay! I'll be signing TRANCE at a book event in Tempe on Monday with Lisa McMann and Aprilynne Pike! (If you're in the area, please come! I'd love to meet you. It will be at Changing Hands Bookstore, 6428 S McClintock Drive, Tempe from 7-9 p.m.)

***

I'm so psyched, I feel like giving stuff away. Up for grabs this week are three signed copies of TRANCE, and your own, personal name numbers reading.

To enter:

* Leave a message below, telling me something you can celebrate this weekend.
* Check out your local bookstore and take a picture of TRANCE on the shelves. Send it to me.
* Invite your friends to participate in this drawing (make sure they tell me who sent them.)

You may earn one entry for each of the above. This drawing will remain open until Wednesday, October 20.

FF - Reader's Choice!

This is a celebration week!

Things I'm celebrating:

* Tomorrow is my son's birthday! Happy Birthday, C!

* Last night my HS senior daughter was honored as a AP Scholar, Summa cum laude, and Valedictorian. I'm a proud mom!!!

* Last week's Ohioana Book Festival was a blast. I met a lot of fabulous authors and readers and it made me proud to be a part of Ohio's literary community. (And I got to party at the Governor's mansion afterwards!)

* At Ohioana, Lisa Klein gave me an ARC of her upcoming book, CATE OF THE LOST COLONY. I've just started it, but I have to say... I am a huge fan already! (And Lisa has agreed to visit the blog for an interview closer to the release. Yay!)

* I visited the Thurber House last week and listened to the stories of some fabulously talented HS students. I love my job!

* This week's visit to Karrer MS was awesome - especially since my dear daughter (Haley, my guest-blogger) got to spend the day with me.

* I've been reading some fantastic YA fiction lately. I love that there are so many great books out there to choose from!

So here's this week's freebie - to be entered to win your choice of the just-read-by-me books listed below, leave a comment telling me what you are/would like to be celebrating this week/month/year.

What's Up Wednesday

Book Signing
Finally met Aprilynne Pike and Sydney Salter last night at our signing. So much fun, both of them! Here I am with Sydney, the B&N CRM extraordinaire, Brandi, and Aprilynne. Insider hint: be sure to watch Aprilynne's blog for an upcoming announcement that's sure to make fans smile.

The TBR Pile Grows
How could I spend three hours in a bookstore and not come away with a pile of books???

Time Change
You may have noticed that I have changed the time setting for my blog to Tehran local time. Find out why here: http://scottwesterfeld.com/blog/?p=1050

Healing Thoughts Needed
My brother Reed is going into the hospital for surgery today. If anyone has any positive vibes to spare, could you shoot them his way? Thanks!
