This has been a phenomenal month - so many new releases from fabulous authors! I'm very pleased to introduce this week's guest, Teen Fiction Cafe and GCC sister Alyson Noel, whose newly released novel EVERMORE is already in second printing! AND it's on the Borders.com bestseller for teens list! All this and it was just released on Tuesday. Go, Alyson!
The first book in Alyson's IMMORTALS series, EVERMORE has already earned the Flamingnet Top Choice Award, Teens Read Too's 5 Star Gold Award, four star reviews from Romantic Times and a nod from Booklist for its "humor and authenticity."And no wonder. Check out the official blurb:
I cannot wait to read this! (It arrived in my shipment this week along with AS King's DUST of 100 DOGS and Justina Chen Headley's NORTH OF BEAUTIFUL. See? I'm telling you... so many great new releases! And I won't be able to touch any of them until I meet my deadline. Boo.)
And now, without further whining on my part, Alyson's interview:
What inspired you to write EVERMORE?
A few years ago I lost three people I loved in five horrible months, and just when the dust began to settle my husband was diagnosed with leukemia and it felt like my entire world was crashing down. A year later, when he was in full remission, I wrote SAVING ZOE and CRUEL SUMMER, both of which explore the subject of grief and unavoidable change. But when it came time to write my next book, I realized I wasn’t finished exploring those themes though I wanted to do so in a much different way, by giving the story a paranormal twist and pushing the boundaries between life and death, and EVERMORE is the story that came pouring out of me.
Are any of your characters based on real people that you know?
No, they’re all products of my imagination!
If you could see your own aura, what would it look like when you're happy? Sad?
Happy- bright, vibrant, pulsating orange! J
Sad- Dark, dismal, gloomy, grey L
What excites you?
Opportunity.
What turns you off?
Violence, cruelty, bigotry, negativity, superiority
What's the biggest lie you ever told, and what happened as a result of the telling?
I called in sick when I wasn’t. It resulted in a reallllly fun day!
What's your favorite quote?
“Be the change you want to see in the world.”- Ghandi
What's one thing most people don't know about you?
I have a mad crush on the Spike character on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. And since I’m new to watching the series, most people don’t know this about me!
What are you working on now?
I recently finished BLUE MOON, the second book in my IMMMORTALS series, that’ll be in stores on 08.04.09, and I’m about half way through the next book in the series, which, for the moment I’m calling UNTITLED BOOK #3-- though I’m sure that title will probably change!
Milk Chocolate or Dark?
Dark. No question.
You can find out more about Alyson and the IMMORTALS series on her website alysonnoel.com, or on her blog.

Massive Buffy fan here and I LOVE Spike also (I mean he's the ultimate hot bad boy, who wouldn't love him).
Had Evermore marked in my calendar for a few months and was so excited about its release.
Please count me in!
Just realised I'm an idiot...
a) Happy - Blindingly bright white
b) Sad - Dark blue, almost black
c) Kissing - Blood red
It sounds like an interesting book! Let's see, I think it'll go along the lines of...
Happy - Vibrant yellow
Sad - Very blue, not dark or light but in between
Kissing - Gentle pink
=)
I can't wait to start this series.
I adore Spike (Am and late to the Buffy scene too)
Auras:
1. Happy: Yellow
Yellow is the second primary color.
When it is golden yellow it indicates health and well-being. Such people take good care of themselves, don't worry, and learn easily; good mentality is natural in them. They are happy, friendly, and helpful. They may think a lot.
2. Sad: Absence of life force. Grey appears because the body's energy has been significantly reduced
3. Kissing: Red is the first of the primary colors and in ancient symbolism it represented the body, the earth, and hell, all three of which meant the same thing in the old mystery religions.
As to the meaning of red, it indicates force, vigor and energy
I did a little research because a librarian and b. it's interesting to me:

What a fun idea! Let's see...
Happy: Bubbly, bouncy, can't-be-contained red!
Sad: Jumbled, criss-crossed, snappy storm-grey!
Kissing: slow, careful, sweet pink!
For me my aura will be
red for happy
dark, hunter green for sad
sunshine yellow when I am kissing
I can't wait to read this book!
Oh, what I would give to be watching Buffy for the first time! Spike's awesome!
About my aura:
a)Happy- Rainbow
b)Sad- A very pale blue
c)Kissing- Red
Let's see here...
Happy: Bright Purple
Sad: Teal
Kissing: Creamy Yellow
~Meredith
Happy: Fire-engine red
Sad: Beige
Kissing: Sunshine yellow
Fun interview!
My auras?
Happy: Depends on what sort of happy I am. Obnoxiously bright? Probably neon orange or something, like the caution orange, telling people to stay away. (Also, I hate that color, and I can't stand myself when I'm that bubbly.) If I'm tranquil happy, then my aura is definitely cerulean.
Sad: Probably a dark bluish gray.
Kissing: I have no idea. I've never been kissed, but I would imagine it would have to do with who was kissing me and the kind of kiss. Like if it were some jerk kissing me...probably dark, raging red 'cause I'd be livid. The love of my life kissing me? Something quite different. :-)
I want to enter!
A) When I'm happy, my aura would be a turquoise hue.
B) For sad, it'd be a fading green.
C) And kissing...my aura would be a sunset--red, orange, and pink sinking through blue and black.
Happy - warm gold
Sad - dark grey
Kissing - sunny yellow

Haha, totally love Spike... right from the beginning he is funny, but once he's not so evil anymore? Sa-woon, as Sarah Dessen would say. ;)
My aura, hmm? I think when I'm happy it would be bright blue, like the sky on a sunny day. When I'm sad I think it would be slate grey. As for kissing?? I think a nice dusty rose.
Great interview!
Happy- Swirling orange, red, and yellow...much like my hair.
Sad- The darkest shade of blue, outlined with yellow. (Because I always find logic in sorrow, thereby learning from it instead of just wallowing in it.)
Kissing- The color of a hundred multihued super novas exploding at the same time.
I can't wait to read Evermore, everyone's been blogging about it for months! Let's see...
a. Happy-light yellow
b. Sad-brown
c. Kissing-soft blue
I commented on your interview :)
These are some great visuals, you guys! Just so you know, I am not ignoring you... I do like to respond to comments but this weekend I am *supposed* to be off-line and powering through to make my deadline. I just couldn't resist peeking in. : )
Some of the descriptions - like pulsating, booming, supernovas reminded me of a program I saw once on Discovery Channel or something where they filmed a girl and a guy with special equipment that was supposed to be able to 'see' a person's aura. I don't know if what we saw was actually an aura or energy or heat or what, but what was funny was when they kissed, the guy's aura was about the same, only kind of brighter, but the girl's went crazy - shooting off in all sorts of directions. Often wondered what that meant in terms of their relationship.: )
Keep those aura descriptions coming and I'll peek in later!
Enter me, please! I can't wait to read Evermore! (; And I have to agree with Alyson, dark chocolate rules! (But then again, I like any kind of sweet).
(:
And my happy-aura would be yellow, and sad would be a dismal, gloomy grey. ): Right now my aura is yellow because it's the weekend! Yahoo! (:
