Party with Heather Swain

Please welcome Heather Swain to the party!

Heather is the author of the young adult novels ME, MY ELF, AND I and its sequel SELFISH ELF WISH. When she's not busy writing about elves, she's usually finding ways to entertain her kids with toilet paper tubes and drinking straws. You can find her crafty ideas in the book MAKE THESE TOYS: 101 CLEVER CREATIONS FROM EVERYDAY ITEMS. Heather lives in a crooked house in Brooklyn with her husband, children, and dog.

Here's the lowdown on SELFISH ELF WISH:

In this sequel to ME, MY ELF, AND I, Zephyr Addler has a problem. She's keeping secrets from her friends, and the guys she likes, Timber. But what else can she do. After all, it's not that easy being an elf in the middle of Brooklyn--especially when she's not allowed to use magic to hide her family's quirky elfin ways. To make matters worse, Bella, the meanest girl in school, Zephyr's arch-rival, and costar in the school play, has vowed to make Zephyr's life a living nightmare. Can Zephyr keep it together long enough to win Timber over, or will she give in to temptation and work some forbidden elfin magic in the school halls?

Now for Heather's numbers:

Your compound value number is eleven, which is a master number. It is associated with wisdom, intellect and spirituality. Elevens are altruistic, sensitive, artistic, visionary, idealistic, have a sense of community. Eleven can also be a warning of hidden dangers, treachery from others, or a person who has a great deal to contend with.

Your name number is two. The number two indicates someone who is empathetic, cooperative, considerate, but in some cases, co-dependent. Twos make good partners or diplomats.

And her response:

Who wouldn't love being told she's wise, altruistic, considerate, and visionary! I'd like to think those are characteristics I try to imbue in the characters of my books. As for the hidden dangers lurking behind the 11, I'll leave that for my character Zephyr to deal with in SELFISH ELF WISH as she battles the nefarious dark elves who've infiltrated the Brooklyn music scene and her hidden hometown Alverland in the Upper Penninsula of Michigan.
